Alerts Page Guide
Active alerts, history, severity levels, and smart recommendations
Alert Management
The Alerts page is your central hub for monitoring issues across all your domains. Alerts are triggered automatically when DMARC Busta detects DNS misconfigurations, compliance drops, or other problems that need attention.
Page Tabs
| Tab | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Active Alerts | Current unresolved alerts requiring attention. Each alert shows its severity badge, affected domain, alert type, and timestamp. |
| History | Previously resolved or dismissed alerts. Useful for auditing past issues and confirming fixes. |
| Configure | Create custom alert rules and enable or disable recommended rules. Control which events trigger alerts and at what severity. |
Alert Severity Levels
| Severity | Colour | When Used |
|---|---|---|
| Critical | Red | Email delivery is actively impaired or a security breach is detected. Requires immediate action. |
| High | Orange | Significant misconfiguration that will cause problems if not addressed soon. |
| Medium | Yellow | Non-urgent issue that should be reviewed when convenient. No immediate email impact. |
| Low | Blue | Informational. Best-practice recommendation or minor optimisation opportunity. |
Alert Actions
- Acknowledge — Marks the alert as seen. It remains active but shows you are aware of it.
- Resolve — Marks the alert as fixed. Use this after correcting the underlying DNS or configuration issue.
- Dismiss — Hides the alert without fixing it. Useful for known false positives or accepted risks.
Smart Recommendations & What Happened
Clicking an alert expands two panels. The What Happened panel explains the detected issue in plain language. The Smart Recommendations panel uses AI to suggest specific actions you can take to resolve the alert.
Tip
Resolve alerts by fixing the underlying issue. Dismissing hides the alert but does not fix the problem — the same alert may reappear on the next scan.
